Description

“Mediterranian Roots” is an 8 days youth exchange gathering 24 participants in Italy, with the aim to explore new learning methodologies based on work with body and movement, while experiencing how embodied learning approaches and methods can be used in different realities within non-formal education. The applicant organization is Teatro Ebasko and the main partner is Quinta il das Relvas, from Portugal. They will include in the exchange the volunteers, disable people and immigrants. The objectives of the project include: a) To explore and experience embodiment practices as a tool to bring positive changes to European youngsters and to their communities in order to promote tolerance, inclusion, and integration. b) To develop participants' empathetic leadership and communication skills. c) To provide impulse, know-how, and networks for their organizations to create high impact activities. d) To enhance the life-long learning competencies and soft skills of participants, since the efficiency and resilience of the organizations are highly dependent on the competences of their staff and volunteers.

Through dialogue, group and self-reflection, bodywork, movement and meditation participants will learn from each other, develop the connection and open communication within the group. The exchange will include elements of contact improvisation, dance, authentic movement, yoga, voice work, theater, meditation and other fields of bodywork. They will participate in the harvest of the village and they will prepare a flash mob for the host community.

The results of the project are both tangible and intangible and they include a final video to disseminate results and share experiences.
